Oilfield Technology,

Following the launch of its ET210, Permasense, a provider of remote monitoring solutions to the energy industry, has recently opened an Aberdeen office. The ET 210 is a product for real-time monitoring of corrosion and erosion at upstream oil and gas assets.

Increasing operating efficiency and enhancing production at oil and gas assets

Iain Fullerton, who has been appointed Upstream Business Manager, will coordinate the new office. As part of his role, Fullerton is responsible for leading an EMEA sales team to take Permasense’s monitoring systems to the region’s operators.

Peter Collins, CEO of Permasense, comments: “The challenging industry environment is encouraging operators to look for innovative solutions that have a genuine impact on project economics and offer quick return on investment. Permasense systems are renowned for increasing operating efficiency and enhancing production at oil and gas assets, with a payback time of weeks. The quality and frequency of the data delivered offers operators real-time insight into the impact of production operations – including flowrates, sand and acid levels – on equipment integrity.”

Moving into a strategic hub

“Aberdeen remains a strategic hub for many of the world’s leading operators, so it makes sense for Permasense to have a dedicated presence in this key location. Our committed sales team will work closely with operators, delivering cost-effective solutions to maximise throughput, while minimising the costs and safety risks associated with manual inspection methods.”

Iain Fullerton, adds: “As crude remains around US$60 per bbl, the pressure to reduce operating costs has never been greater. The North Sea in particular, is looking for new ways to optimise operations while managing operational risk. Working alongside a team with a proven track record in addressing operator challenges is a fantastic opportunity.”
