Tesco receives API specification Q1 certification

The facilities, located on Brittmoore Park Road and in Magnolia, manufacture, service, supply, install, inspect and distribute parts, equipment and accessories used for oil and gas exploration and production. The scope of Tesco’s license to API 8C includes drilling and production hoisting equipment to PSL 1.

To gain API certification and a license to monogram products to API specification, a facility must demonstrate a risk-based quality management system that assures personnel competency, contingency planning, management of change, design and development to ensure product integrity and safety, and numerous other elements to ensure consistency of product. The benefits of complying with this Specification will be better management of risk and improved operating efficiencies. As part of the certification process, licensees are required to maintain the capabilities, including the resources, processes and technology, to manufacture products that fall within the scope of licensing.

Tesco is continuing to participate in the API Q1 and API Q2 review and certification process for several of its facilities globally. Last week, our first top drive built in our API Q1 certified facility was shipped to a customer.
