Aberdeen-based Cambla, an independent project services consultancy specialising in the energy industry, has announced that it has been shortlisted for a Subsea UK Award in the New Enterprise category.
The consultancy has been shortlisted for the New Enterprise award in recognition of the significant growth it has achieved during its first year of business. Cambla surpassed its turnover expectations in 2014 by 45%, as a result of a number of contract extensions to provide expert project services support.
The shortlisting also acknowledges Cambla’s strong people development programme and graduate intake. To develop the skills of the next generation of industry talent, Cambla recruits recent graduates and offers a strong training and mentoring scheme for staff members.
Alexander MacLeod, Owner and Project Services Manager at Cambla, said: “Being shortlisted for a Subsea UK Award is an excellent start to the new year for Cambla. The entire team is honoured to be nominated for this prestigious industry award, which highlights the level of hard work and dedication they have committed to ensure our first year in business was a success.”
Established in 2013, Cambla offers expert project planning, risk assessment and cost control services to support subsea projects using a pre-built toolkit of processes and reports. In early 2015, the company will unveil a new, innovative planning software that it has developed for the oil and gas industry. A time-saving tool, it is set to improve the accuracy and efficiency of planning subsea and marine operations globally.
Mr Macleod continued: “The company has gone from strength to strength since its inception in 2013. Our first year turnover figures exceeded initial targets and are predicted to increase further this year. We have exciting plans for 2015, including the launch of our new software, which I am confident will be well received by the oil and gas industry and will further broaden Cambla’s service offering and capabilities.”
Now in its eighth year, the Subsea UK Awards recognises the achievements of individuals and entrepreneurial companies operating with the subsea industry, on a global stage. Winners will be announced at a prestigious awards ceremony on 11 February 2015, held at Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre.
The Cambla team currently comprises of four highly trained professionals, each with a wide range of experience and expertise, with plans to appoint a further two staff members within the next 12 months.
