Halliburton has announced its annual 2016 Landmark Innovation Forum and Expo (LIFE), the oil and gas industry’s premier business and technology event attracting senior executives at super majors, independents, national oil companies, service companies and other participants from across the global E&P value chain covering exploration, production, drilling and information technology.

The theme of this year’s forum is “Navigating the Cycle.” The present moment in the business cycle calls for reexamining operational, financial and technical aspects of each company and fine-tuning them for the subsequent cycle. The event will assemble a diverse group of business and technical experts and industry thought leaders to share ideas on emerging technologies, generate increased collaboration and drive sustainable business value.

The agenda will be explored through keynote presentations from innovators in digital business and IT and a technical programme including more than 50 sessions and case studies. The majority of the technical programme is to be delivered by Landmark customers, who will demonstrate how they are creating and sustaining value through and beyond the current cycle. Topics and technical sessions will cover the entire E&P lifecycle:

  • Exploration and Reservoir Lifecycle Management.
  • Well Construction Lifecycle Management.
  • Production and Petroleum Investment Lifecycles.
  • Information Lifecycle Management.

“Digitalization and increased scientific intensity are the need of the hour for our industry,” said Nagaraj Srinivasan, senior vice president, Landmark and Halliburton Digital Solutions. “LIFE 2016 will bring together operators, service providers, software vendors, system integrators, hardware providers and researchers to discover, collaborate, learn and connect to ultimately drive efficiency across the value chain.”

A strong lineup of keynotes will feature New York Times and Wall Street Journal best-selling author Vijay Govindarajan, who is a professor and fellow at Dartmouth and Harvard business schools, respectively; Senior Vice President of Gartner Research, Peter Sondergaard, whose global organisation develops market-leading advice in the IT, supply chain and marketing arenas; and Vice President Subsurface at ConocoPhillips, Ken Tubman and Group Chief Executive Accenture North America, Julie Sweet, who will cover topics on business transformation and navigating the cycle.

Landmark will host iEnergy® Community Day on August 25th bringing together a diverse ecosystem of member E&P companies, iEnergy® partners, developers and academia to deliver an interactive and collaborative experience with user group meetings, customer advisory boards, poster sessions, a hackathon and more. Highlights include a distinguished lecture by John Snedden on “Gulf of Mexico Basin Cenozoic Record: Validation of Empirical Source to Sink Scaling Relationships in a Large, Continental Scale System” along with talks on Halliburton’s EVOLVE cloud-based learning programme for early career professionals.
