Redesigned test rig boosts testing capabilities up to 75 t

The enhanced TR-630 automated test rig from RED Engineering is designed to provide improved qualification testing of industrial technologies in simulated environmental conditions.

Newly upgraded for improved tensioner pad testing, the TR-630 features two and four track modes that can generate crush loads of up 75 t per pad (>200t/m/track) to provide accurate analysis and rapid results for applications in the oil and gas sectors.

A thermal enclosure, giving a temperature range of -10°C to +60°C, together with an automated water spray, allows a wide range of operating environments to be simulated.

The rig, together with a range of bespoke test equipment located at the company’s test facility, provides customers with failure mode and qualification testing in compliance with industry standards as well as their own specific requirements.

TR-630 is part of an investment programme in specialist equipment by RED Engineering to provide the capability to combine the application of differing load, pressure and environmental conditions to a test at both high and low extremes with testing on a 24/7 basis if required.

Tests undertaken include concept evaluation testing, product qualification testing, cyclic fatigue testing, friction coefficient measurement, lifecycle testing and impact testing.
