The managing director of Blaze Manufacturing Solutions will share his expertise during the Topsides UK 2016 exhibition later this month.

Howard Johnson will address industry experts during the event taking place at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre on Wednesday 16 March.

The Topsides UK 2016 exhibition, which will focus on extending the life of ageing topsides operations, has been established to offer industry leaders the opportunity to come together to demonstrate existing expertise, transformational ideas, and demonstrate how the wider industry can benefit from a more cooperative approach.

Mr Johnson, who established Blaze with his wife Ann, 10 years ago, has worked at a number of major names in the global oil and gas industry throughout his career, and has 36 years extensive experience within the fire and safety/loss prevention sector working directly as an operator, engineering service contractor and sub vendor.

The company, which is based in Laurencekirk, offers fire safety protection, detection and loss prevention solutions for harsh and challenging environments including offshore production platforms, drill rigs, floating production units, onshore oil fields, terminals, refineries and petrochemical plants.

Blaze’s specialist capabilities include project evaluation, detailed design, implementation, commissioning and servicing of the whole fire and safety spectrum.

During his presentation, ‘A Holistic Approach to Fire Protection in Asset Life Extension (ALE)’, Mr Johnson will present a number of case studies exploring Blaze’s pioneering systems, including the holistic Deluge Management Systems (DMS-16™) and Flameshield 300™ Flexible deluge pipework solution.

He will also address the current downturn in the industry in his talk and share tips with operators on how to create value through optimising and enhancing production from their existing topsides facilities.

Speaking ahead of the event, Mr Johnson said: “As the sector continues to experience a downturn it is important for companies to get together to examine ways of lowering capital and operating spend.

“I look forward to speaking at the event and meeting other industry experts.”

Blaze will be exhibiting at The Topsides UK 2016 exhibition, which takes place at the GE Oil and Gas Arena at the AECC on Wednesday 16 and Thursday 17 March. Mr Johnson’s presentation will take place at 4pm on Wednesday 16 March.
