New features at 9th IPTC

For the first time, the 9th International Petroleum Technology Conference (IPTC) to be held later this year will include a range of exciting new features, including six interactive ‘Ask The Expert’ sessions as well as presentations from each of the IPTC Excellence in Project Integration Award finalists.

In the Ask The Expert sessions, delegates will have the opportunity to learn from and interact with top industry professionals who are experts in their respective fields. As the upstream oil and gas industry moves towards increasingly complex and capital-intensive projects, conventional practices must be challenged. It is critical that lessons are shared from successfully integrated projects that embody excellence.

Integrated projects such as these will be recognised at IPTC on the evening of 6 December, at a ceremony and dinner to be held at the prestigious St. Regis Hotel in Doha. For the first time at IPTC, the three finalists – Shell, Total and Saudi Aramco - will then present their projects in separate sessions on 8 December. These dedicated sessions will give delegates the opportunity to learn and understand the methodologies and technology behind each project.

This year we are pleased to offer attendees the chance to get greater insight into some of the best integrated oil and gas projects around the region” said Waleed Refaay, IPTC Project Director.

Under the theme ‘Technology and Partnerships for a Sustainable Energy Future’ the 9th IPTC, to be held at the state-of-the-art Qatar National Convention Centre in Doha from 7 to 9 December 2015, is expected to draw 5000 delegates from over 70 countries. Attendees will have the opportunity to visit more than 80 exhibitors, hear from senior speakers and attend a variety of networking events.
