Two Aberdeen companies have built on an established collaboration partnership to offer clients an integrated service to support and manage their decommissioning activities.

Through effective collaboration Apollo and Dundas Consultants offer their advisory services across a full suite of disciplines required to plan an effective cessation of production and decommissioning campaign in line with regulatory processes.

This includes geoscience and reservoir engineering, well engineering, economic evaluations, operations, engineering and project management.

Richard Woodhouse, Director, Dundas Consultants said: “Through this collaboration Apollo and Dundas provide our clients with the strong support and expertise required for the decommissioning planning process.

“We offer subsurface and petroleum economics expertise to support the cessation of production process, the development of plug and abandonment strategies and costings through to conceptual engineering and planning for an efficient dismantling process.

Jonathan White, Business Development Director, Apollo, said: “Early engagement with the regulator and associated planning is crucial for a well-executed decommissioning project. This needs to occur well in advance of any planned decommissioning date to ensure the necessary approvals, safety case and dismantling plan are in place and approved.

“Our clients have one point of contact for the whole of the project lifecycle, providing expert insight and better value at a challenging but pivotal time for the industry.”

Oil and Gas UK anticipates an annual spend of £1.5 billion per annum on decommissioning activities over the next decade and it is becoming an increasing area of activity for asset owners in the North Sea as the basin matures and is coupled with the challenges of a low oil price.

Clients utilising Apollo and Dundas have come to expect customer focus, deep knowledge and understanding of the issues affecting their business and this new area of co-operation will continue this strength.

The Apollo and Dundas partnership has a proven track record in delivering cost effective and practical solutions.
