Cooper Energy Limited reports that Worrior-11, an oil development well located in PPL 207 in the Cooper Basin, South Australia, has been cased and suspended after reaching a total depth of 1669 m in the Hutton Sandstone on 29 December 2016.
The primary targets of Worrior-11 were the lower Birkhead Formation and the Hutton Sandstone. Almost half of cumulative production to date from the Worrior Field has been from the upper and mid Birkhead Formation.
The rig was released yesterday.
Worrior-11 was drilled directionally east-southeast from a surface location 75 m south-southeast of Worrior-2 to a subsurface target location 150 m north-northeast of Worrior-1 to increase overall field recoveries.
A 5.2 m net oil column is interpreted in the primary target lower Birkhead Formation/Hutton Sandstone interval. A further 3.9 m of net oil in the mid-Birkhead Formation and 2.2 m of net oil in the secondary target McKinlay Member are interpreted.
Commenting on the well, Cooper Energy Managing Director, David Maxwell, said "this is a very pleasing result which supports the remaining production and development potential in the Worrior oil field". Cooper Energy Limited holds a 30% interest in PPL 207, with the balance held by the Operator, Senex Energy Limited.
