Sean Ranch appointed to lead Houston office expansion

Schramm, Inc., a world-class manufacturer of land drilling rigs, has appointed Sean Roach, its current Vice President of Drilling Systems and Services, to lead the company’s new, expanded office in Houston, which will include a state-of-the-art training simulator, as well as a T500XD land drilling rig – the manufacturer’s flagship shale pad drilling rig.

The new, expanded office is a sales and marketing hub with a team of 8 employees, and is conveniently located between the George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and the Houston Energy Corridor.

“We want to be closer to our customers – literally and in terms of collaboration,” said Sean Roach, Schramm VP Drilling Systems and Services. We are moving away from the traditional relationship with our customers to a consultative relationship where we collaboratively develop drilling solutions, leveraging our diverse rig portfolio and experience, to meet their specific exploration & development drilling challenges. This new highly customised and collaborative partnership is helping our customers achieve increased cost savings, maximised efficiencies and safer operations.”

Roach joined Schramm in November of last year from National Oilwell Varco (NOV), and will lead the company’s oil and gas business activities from Houston. Roach brings 14 years of industry experience including 10 years at NOV where he held several global roles, including developing land rig projects, and obtained a proven record of achieving strategic goals and cultivating profitable business relationships.

“Sean’s deep industry roots, experience and relationships are key to our growth,” said Bobby Bryan, Schramm Chief Executive Officer. “As low prices continue to dominate market conditions, we have begun working in partnership with our customers, rendering them greater levels of efficiency and profitability by engaging with them to develop equipment and services customised to their very specific needs.”

Over the course of Schramm’s 115-year history, the Pennsylvania-based rig manufacturer’s constant drive to innovate and advance technology has become its hallmark. Schramm’s new facility will enable the company to introduce producers to its unique and proprietary solutions designed to enhance drilling efficiency and profitability across operations and down to individual leases in specific plays.
