Offshore Oil and Gas digitalisation software provider and systems integrator, Eigen, has released an app that equips Digital Workers with live access to real-time and other operational information, using wearable devices.

Available today and being used by Lundin Norway as the first user, Eigen has developed the technology as part of a pilot with Honeywell to meet Lundin Norway’s digital vision.

The technology, which is also moving into other live field trials, will enhance the productivity of Digital Workers offshore through immediate access to critical data and to operational information in a single place.

Using search term entry users can access information and use the system to automatically identify and display information related to the equipment including, documentation, live performance data, equipment parameters, maintenance history or any recently generated alerts or alarms.

The technology is built on Eigen’s ‘Ingenuity’ platform - a smart layer that provides contextual linking on top of existing systems. This new digital capability increases operational efficiency by eliminating time spent understanding status and allows engineers to focus on essential tasks.

Commenting from Eigen, Murray Callander, CEO, said, “The new solution enables today’s digitally-enabled offshore workers with critical information available in real-time. Developed rapidly on top of our Ingenuity platform, it is a prime example of our commitment to remaining at the forefront of Industry 4.0 and helping our customers to become more efficient.

The Ingenuity platform enables the speed of innovation and solutions required to evolve and deliver new capabilities rapidly. It demonstrates the value of our platform technology, combined with an approach to making incremental investment based on business cases that deliver value at each step.”

The configuration of Ingenuity was developed to run on Android-based wearables (within just three weeks) and is also available in iOS format on the App Store.
