Wintershall Dea and Eigen sign digitalisation agreement

Offshore oil and gas digitalisation software provider and systems integrator, Eigen, and independent gas and oil company, Wintershall Dea, have signed a long term agreement for the provision of services and software licences for Eigen’s Ingenuity platform and mobile apps. The agreement means that Wintershall Dea will now progress the development and roll-out of its Production Technology Work Bench with Eigen’s Ingenuity as a core element.
Following a successful pilot on its Brage platform, Wintershall Dea is progressing with this ambitious project, with Eigen’s cloud based Ingenuity platform as the application layer and front-end, connected via Cognite’s CDF to the Wintershall Dea Data Hub.
By integrating all relevant and contextualised data in a single front end, with a user focused design, Wintershall Dea now provides its production technologists with a single point of truth and standardised work bench.? As shown in the pilot phase, this step towards integration and standardisation has great potential to increase production and reduce OPEX.? Eigen plays a key role in this due to its ability to provide solutions built to customers’ need, based on its in-depth domain know-how.
Einar Midtun, Digital Transformation Lead at Wintershall Dea Norway, said “providing live data with visualisation and contextualisation, the production technology workbench offers extensive operational data integration opportunities. Continuing the Eigen Wintershall Dea relationship will intensify fully agile team working, and the development of new functionality down the line.”
As part of the agreement, Wintershall Dea will invest in the development of new functionality and data connectors in the Eigen platform.
