The FairfieldNodal and Schlumberger WesternGeco multiclient joint venture project in the southern Delaware Basin of West Texas, known as Coyanosa Phase I, is scheduled to begin shooting late-August.

This is the first seismic survey acquired there in approximately 30 years. PanamaSPAN™ is designed to provide the framework to evaluate the hydrocarbon potential of this unexplored area ahead of the anticipated inaugural license round.

The project will offer the industry the highest-resolution 3D seismic data available in this extremely prospective area.

The survey is being conducted by Schlumberger Guyana Inc. using R/V GECO Eagle and two supporting vessels, and is expected to be completed within 50 days following which the results will be interpreted before an announcement is published.

ION Geophysical Corporation has announced a new 2D multi-client programme offshore Gabon, EquatorSPAN™ II, in cooperation with the Gabon Ministry of Petroleum and Hydrocarbons, Direction Général des Hydrocarbures of Gabon (DGH).

The new contract will run for a further three years, from 1 March 2017 to 28 February 2020.
