Equinor has said that the COVID-19 pandemic has interrupted the development of Norway's offshore oil and gas projects, pushing up costs and postponing startups.

The merger creates the British North Sea's largest oil and gas producer.

Equinor has conducted a controlled closure of the Gudrun, Gina Krog, Kvitebjørn and Valemon fields.

Maersk Drilling will drill two development wells for Dana Petroleum in the Dutch sector of the North Sea in 2Q21.

The Duva field is being developed as a subsea installation with three oil producers and one gas producer, tied-back to the Gjøa semi-submersible platform.

Recoverable resources are estimated to be in the range of 2-6 million m3 of oil equivalent, corresponding to 13-38 million boe.

Wintershall Noordzee is currently finalising the hook-up activities to the D12-B production platform, from where the produced gas will be transported via the Neptune Energy-operated D15-A production platform, through the NGT gas transportation system to shore.

The contract covers the delivery of four subsea templates and up to 23 subsea trees and associated components.

Neptune Energy will remain as operator of the prospect with a 30% working interest in the licence.

Following the transaction, the PGNiG Group’s own gas production in Norway will increase to 0.9 billion m3 in 2021.
