Weatherford International plc announced today that its sucker-rod manufacturing facility in Greenville, Texas, achieved certifications of quality management systems from the American Petroleum Institute (API Q1) and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO 9001:2015) with zero nonconformities.
To gain these certifications, an organisation must demonstrate the ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements, and aim to enhance customer satisfaction through continuous process improvements.
The Greenville facility applies industry-leading manufacturing techniques including physics-based heating processes, robotic forges and precision-engineered shot peening. The facility staff, including an onsite metallurgist, follows Six Sigma processes as well as the company’s Operational Excellence and Performance System to continually optimise production efficiency and to maintain quality.
“By applying consistent processes and proven systems, we have set a high bar for quality and efficiency at our Greenville sucker-rod manufacturing facility,” said Kyle Chapman, Global Segment President, Production, at Weatherford. “The gains in efficiency will make us even more nimble in responding to the needs of North American operators.”
