For the first time, personnel involved in lifting operations will be able to access job specific information and industry best practice at the touch of a button, wherever they are in the world, thanks to NSL’s new mobile applications.

Developed by NSL’s in-house Graphics and Media Department, the Rigging & Lifting and Lifting Matrix mobile apps demonstrate NSL’s commitment to digital technology and their capability in developing cutting-edge solutions that strengthen and advance their business. Packed with safety information allowing for on the spot checking of safe practices in lifting operations, both apps are expected to deliver tangible benefits to employers and operatives.

The Rigging & Lifting app is based on NSL’s recently updated International Rigging & Lifting Handbook and costs £12.99. This app contains information that has made the original handbook an essential tool for personnel involved in rigging and lifting operations. As well as the advantages of portability, the Rigging & Lifting app ensures that the user has access to the most up-to-date version of this important industry manual in addition to relevant video content.

The Lifting Matrix app is free and gives quick access to lifting operations and regulations for all types of lifting equipment. It’s a simple way to access information that is crucial to all lifting operations.

Duncan Bonner, Managing Director of NSL said: “We have developed these applications so that workers across the sector globally are better able to access job specific information and best practice via Apple, Android or Windows mobile devices, to ensure they are working to the most up-to-date guidelines and are compliant to industry legislation both onshore and offshore.

“Our mobile offerings combine industry legislation and best practice with cutting edge user experience and design to help clients access NSL’s industry proven products, no matter where they are in the world.”

The company also has plans to transform their additional eight printed handbooks into mobile applications over the space of the next six months.
