The Board of Woodside has appointed Mr Larry Archibald as a non-executive director effective 1 February 2017. Mr Archibald joins Woodside as an independent director.
Woodside Chairman Michael Chaney said that Mr Archibald’s significant international experience in oil and gas exploration and impressive record of exploration success would be a great asset to the company's Board.
In 2015, Mr Archibald retired from ConocoPhillips, where he spent eight years in senior executive positions including Senior Vice President, Business Development and Exploration, and Senior Vice President, Exploration. Mr Archibald had previously spent 29 years at Amoco and BP in various positions including leading global exploration programmes.
Mr Archibald is an adviser to exploration and production companies MainSail Energy Plc and Guidestone Energy LLC. He provides advisory services to global private equity investment firm Warburg Pincus, LLC.
Mr Archibald holds a Master of Business Administration from Regis College, a Bachelor of Science, Geosciences, from the University of Arizona and a Bachelor of Arts, Geology, from Colgate University.
