The Weatherford AutoFrac® RFID-enabled stimulation system has been recognised by the 2017 Spotlight on New Technology Awards, which are formally presented during the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC). The Spotlight on New Technology Awards showcases the latest and most advanced technologies that are leading the industry into the future.
The AutoFrac system was selected based on a number of criteria, including the requirement that the technology be new and innovative, demonstrate proven performance, have broad appeal for the industry and provide significant benefits beyond existing technologies. The system enables efficient stimulation in openhole sections of extended-reach offshore wells where traditional technologies have often failed to provide adequate reliability.
“It is an honour to receive this prestigious award for the AutoFrac system, one of the innovative tools in our RFID downhole portfolio that reduces total completion costs for our clients,” said Mark Hopmann, Vice President of Completions at Weatherford.
