Advanced Interactive Materials Science launches Sagittite 25

Oilfield Technology,

International metallurgy business, Advanced Interactive Materials Science Limited (AIMS), has announced a new material in its developing Sagittite range, a range of alloys that can withstand high wear, erosion and corrosion.

Metal mix to tackle the demands of the oil and gas industry

The latest addition to the range is Sagittite® 25, a ferrous based metal matrix composite with tailored properties specifically designed to address erosion, abrasion, and metal on metal wear conditions. It is ideal for extruder applications as well as oil and gas and other hard particle product handling and processing.

AIMS Technical Director Geoff Archer said: “In the pursuit of reliability, long life and reduced whole life cost components that can withstand the harshest of environments, reducing the costs of maintenance and downtime are much sought after.

“We have been working on Sagittite 25 for many months in response to requests from our customers, which highlights the need for even greater reliability and wear characteristics that businesses require.”

Designed to withstand erosion, corrosion and high temperatures

This latest creation by AIMS complements Sagittite 10 and Sagittite 15, nickel-based metal matrix composite materials that are all designed to withstand erosion, corrosion and high temperature.

Established almost 20 years ago, Sagittite is a dedicated solution for wear components for extrusion in oil and gas, and petrochemical industries.
