Emission control device for tank vapour
JLCC, Incorporated, a Texas Combustion Company, has announced that they have completed and passed the third party Manufacturer’s Performance Certification according to the EPA 40 CFR rigorous requirements on a much needed Emission Control Device (ECD) or vapour combustor from their Flame Commander product line. JLCC has developed the ECD specifically to meet or exceed New Source Performance Standard Subpart OOOO (Quad O) regulation using Jerry Lang’s next level burner technology. The ECD is used on tank batteries storing oil/condensate and water that are currently emitting flash gas into the atmosphere. The design is patent pending and can be custom sized.
With current emission requirements continuing to be a problem for oil and gas field operations, and regulations being implemented, JLCC’s patent pending Flame Commander ECD’s stand to be a necessity no and in the coming months and years with the regulation declaring combustion or capture of flash vapour from tanks batteries. Only complete combustion can achieve this.

John Huffhines, CTO, JLCC said, ‘I am confident that the new design will be appropriate to meet the needs that companies are faced with. Most of the ECD’s I have seen have not been properly sized to handle the wide range of gas volumes from cold winter months to hot summer months.’
