Stork shows off sand management technology
Stork recently held a series of sand management technology showcase events at its premises in Dyce, Aberdeen.
Each technology showcase demonstrated the company’s Advanced Online Desanding (AOD) capability, with a number of major oil and gas players in attendance.
Sand management technology
Sand build up in separators is an old problem in need of a new solution. Stork's AOD system, now in its 3rd generation, sets a new standard for sand management that's safe, environmentally friendly and cost effective. AOD removes sand efficiently and safely avoiding costly platform shutdowns, maintaining production, whilst reducing environmental impact.
Stork’s AOD system removes and cleans sand from live separators without causing undue process disturbance or production loss ready for safe overboard discharge. To date, Stork has delivered 57 mobilisations, removing over 1300 t of sand. Combined with a wider waste management package, a fully integrated, preventative maintenance plan and sand management service can be delivered on a global scale.
Rod Agnew, VP of Service Delivery for Stork said, “By combining innovative products with an unrivalled and experienced service, a winning formula is ensured. Our AOD technology is a great example of partnering with our clients to reduce costs, reduce risk and optimise the performance of their assets.”
