Oilfield Technology,

SengS have recently spent over £200 000 in specialist orbital welding equipment and staff training.

Orbital Welding is a specialised area of Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) that involves the circular movement of the welding tool around the workpiece with or without the use (Autogenous) of a filler metal, producing stronger, higher quality welds, the types of which are requested by many Oil & Gas companies.

Engineering Director, Chris Waller said, “In developing our new Test & Assembly capabilities, we needed to ensure that we give our existing clients the best range of service options available in the North East, whilst also being seen as the company of choice for new business due to the services and technology we can provide. The addition of the Orbital and Autogenous Welding division opens a new dimension allowing us to bring in work from other industries, such as Aerospace, Food & Beverage, Pharmaceutical, Chemical and Nuclear. ”

Chris added, “Having recently moved into our state-of-the-art facilities, here in Ellon, we have continued to add to the range of services we can offer to our customers. Whilst our roots have originally been in Engineering, we have expanded our offering to include Pressure Testing and Test & Assembly work, as well as Repair and Maintenance of Control and Hydraulic Systems.

Our future plans include the launch of a new ROV Tooling and Deck Equipment Rental Division later in 2015 ”
