The FPSO Europe Congress has partnered with 8over8 for the 2nd Annual FPSO Europe Congress to be held on 24 - 25 February in London. With an expected turnout of over 200 attendees, the event looks set to be the leading platform for Europe's oil operators, FPSO contractors, EPCs, shipyards and solution providers to discuss the most topical and critical FPSO developments in the North Sea, Brazil and West Africa market.
With oil prices hovering around US$30/bbl, it has never been more pressing for FPSO stakeholders to engage and brainstorm sustainable solutions moving forward FPSO sector growth. Join Shell, Tullow Oil, Premier Oil, SBM Offshore, MODEC and many more as the congress counts down to Europe's largest FPSO community gathering.
Clare Colhoun, CEO of 8over8 will focus on ‘using Governance & Commercial Discipline to Trump Cost Cutting in Complex Projects’. A recent survey of 9 FPSO projects identified a combined 38% cost overrun totalling US$2.5 billion in wasted capital. One of the identified causal factors was "a lack of clarity regarding contract responsibilities". Whilst it is essential to trim costs right across the supply chain in these complex projects, implementing a system of strong governance and commercial discipline can trump a singular focus on cost cutting. Clare will present a case study where efficiency gains were generated in the world's first FLNG project - resulting in connected decision making and reduced incidence of conflict and claims amongst stakeholders. By attending Clare’ s session, attendees will also gain a pragmatic and holistic view of cost overruns in complex projects and exclusively showcase how Procon Risk Management Software can connects all decision makers to protect capital investment, drive performance and improve profitability when building and operating high value assets.
