MODEC will supply the FPSO under an FPSO Purchase Contract to Woodside. The FPSO will be deployed in the Sangomar field located approximately 100 km south of Dakar, Senegal. The Sangomar Field Development is expected to be Senegal's first offshore oil development. The FPSO is scheduled for delivery to support the production of first oil in early 2023 and will be moored in approximately 780 m water depth.
SOFEC will be responsible for all EPC activities related to the External Turret Mooring System and its ancillary components. SOFEC will assist in turret integration and offshore hook-up and commissioning activities as planned in 2023.
Rick Hall, SOFEC’s CEO stated: “SOFEC is honoured to provide our technology to Senegal and are proud to support MODEC in the development of Senegalese offshore resources. We look forward to seeing the tremendous benefits the revenues generated from the FPSO will provide to the country.”
