During the contract period, Maersk Drilling will complete upgrades to the Maersk Intrepid to turn the jack-up into the first hybrid, low-emission rig.

The waterflood project is Chevron’s first in the deepwater Wilcox trend and is expected to contribute an estimated ultimate recovery of more than 175 million boe.

The company will work with BP to drill and evaluate the Puma West prospect , while it has acquired from ExxonMobil the Hershey prospect.

The survey is taking place in the MSGBC Basin, with fast-track data available four months after acquisition.
