Viking SeaTech secures long-term Maersk Oil contract

Successful negotiations lead to Maersk Oil contract

Specialist Marine Services provider Viking SeaTech UK has secured a long-term North Sea contract with the UK business of international oil and gas company Maersk Oil.

The award is the result of a successful tender and negotiation process and is the first time Viking SeaTech has secured a contract with the major oil and gas operator.

The agreement is for the supply of rig move equipment and storage services. It covers a fixed period of three years and also contains options for multiple extensions.

John Dick, managing director, Viking SeaTech UK, said:

“As part of the arrangement we will keep Maersk Oil’s equipment safe and secure at our premises so it is ready for use in combination with our own for each project stage. We’ll collaborate with Maersk Oil’s marine superintendent and his team and start work immediately.”

Viking SeaTech has recently enhanced its capabilities with the expansion of its Marine department. It also now has a strategic agreement with DOF Subsea for the provision of rig moving and positioning services.

It is a trusted international provider of marine solutions with more than 20 years’ experience in the world’s harshest environments.

The company will support Maersk’s assets in the Dumbarton, Gryphon and Janice fields. The schedule includes the use of the Sedco 704 semi-submersible.

Viking SeaTech is part of Actuant Corporation’s Energy Segment, which also includes joint integrity specialists Hydratight and synthetic ropes, cables and umbilicals provider Cortland.
