This was for EM&I’s ODIN® Alternative Special ROV (Remote Operated Vehicle) UWILD (Under Water Inspection in Lieu of Drydocking) survey on one of their FPSOs in Brazil.
EM&I has introduced the use of underwater surveys using specialised ROVs instead of divers through their leadership of the JIP (Joint Industry Project) for HITS (Hull Integrity Techniques & Strategy) over the last eight years and have carried out hundreds of underwater surveys on offshore assets during this period.
“This is now the new normal as it is much safer, faster, more economic, and greener than traditional methods using a dive team, which is dangerous and more weather dependent than using ROVs”, commented Danny Constantinis (Executive Chairman & CEO) of the EM&I Group.
“We received perfect 10s from the client for all services provided on this project, so I’m proud of our team in Brazil who carried out all the work involved so professionally,” he concluded.
