A Qatar-based oil and gas operator has engaged technology company Vissim to deliver a vessel collision avoidance system using Vissim’s software, thereby enhancing maritime awareness and safety at an undisclosed oil field offshore Qatar.
Aker BP and operator Equinor have made a significant gas and condensate discovery in the Lofn and Langemann wells in the Sleipner area of the North Sea. Gross recoverable volumes are estimated at 30 to 110 million boe.
These are Equinor’s largest discoveries so far this year and can be developed for the European market through existing infrastructure.
