Africa Oil will acquire a 20% participating interest and operatorship in the Exploration Right for Block 3B/4B, offshore South Africa.

The contract is for six high-pressure high-temperature exploration wells on two jack-up rigs in the Arabian Gulf.

The license refers to Block WB03, located in the medium deep waters of the Tano Basin offshore Ghana.

The acquisition is set to expand Energean’s operations in the eastern Mediterranean gas hub, where Edison has a significant presence in Egypt’s rapidly-growing offshore basin.
