Flexlife has partnered with RIO Analytics to use their Artificial Neural Network (ANN) Solutions in the Gulf of Mexico and further afield. The agreement was signed at the Offshore Technology Conference in Houston yesterday.
The virtual sensors embedded within the ANNs will allow oil and gas operators to accumulate long-term data from subsea areas which are impossible for real sensors to measure - such as the stress on flexible risers or steel catenary risers.
Kirk Francis, Regional Director of Flexlife in Houston, said: “Our partnership will focus on the use of AI for specific applications which provide tangible and useful benefits for assessing subsea integrity. Harnessing this technology is vital for operators wishing to monitor and extend the life of their critical assets, and it builds on Flexlife’s track record of advanced technological solutions.”
Victor Chaves, CEO of RIO Analytics, said: “Flexlife’s full life-cycle engineering and integrity management expertise for risers and flow-lines is complimented by RIO Analytics' artificial intelligence technology. It will provide safe, accurate and advanced life extension analysis for oil and gas operators."
