Mark Clarke has joined global law firm White & Case LLP as a Partner in its disputes group in London, with a particular focus on natural resources and infrastructure disputes.
“The oil & gas industry has been identified as a priority industry by the Firm as part of our 2020 strategy,” said White & Case Partner Andrew McDougall, Regional Section Head for EMEA Disputes. “Mark’s practice naturally complements our existing expertise and strengthens the Firm’s position as a recognised advisor in oil & gas sector disputes.”
Clarke, whose practice focuses on disputes arising in the energy, natural resources and infrastructure sectors, has represented governments, state owned entities and some of the world’s largest companies in complex cross-border disputes, both in litigation and arbitration.
“As the Firm prioritises growth in key markets, practices and sectors, Mark’s arrival ticks all the strategic boxes – the growth of the London office and disputes practice, while building on our expertise in the oil & gas sector,” said Executive Committee member and London Office Executive Partner Oliver Brettle.
“Mark is a high quality lawyer who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that will be a valuable asset as we continue to enhance our energy and disputes practices,” said Partner Michael Polkinghorne, co-leader of the Firm’s Oil & Gas Global Industry Group.
