Oil discovery at Kuda Laut, Indonesia

Premier Oil has announced that the Kuda Laut-1 well in Tuna PSC (Premier operator, 65%) offshore Indonesia has discovered 183 ft of net oil-bearing reservoir and 327 ft of net gas-bearing reservoir. Oil and gas samples have been recovered to surface.

Following completion of evaluation operations, the well will be side-tracked to drill the Singa Laut prospect in the adjacent fault block. The results of this side-track are expected in late May and will be incorporated with the results from Kuda Laut to assess the extent of discovered resources at that time.

Separately, drilling continues at the Ratu Gajah-1 exploration well in the Natuna Sea Block A PSC (Premier operator, 28.67%) with results expected in May.

Pakistan and Mauritania – Gas discovery at K-36 Pakistan

The K-36 well on the Kadanwari block (Premier 15.79% interest) onshore Pakistan encountered a total net gas pay of 65 ft and flowed at 50 million ft³/d through a 64/64 in. choke on test. The well was tied-in to the Kadanwari facilities and has been on production since 16 April.  Operations of the K-34 well on the Kadanwari block are ongoing with results expected in May. 

The Badhra-8 well on the Badhra block (Premier 6% interest) onshore Pakistan was plugged and abandoned as a dry hole. Operations at the Badhra South-1 Deep well continue with results expected in May.

As previously announced by the operator of the C-10 licence (Premier 6.23%  interest), offshore Mauritania, the Tapendar-1 exploration well has been plugged and abandoned as a dry hole.
