• The UK getting ready for shale gas

A shale gas supply chain report showing huge potential economic benefits to the UK economy and measures to minimise the environmental impacts of shale gas have been announced by the Government.

• Scientific Drilling International names new President

Scientific Drilling International has announced the appointment of Phil Longorio as President of the company and its affiliates.

• TGS announces exploration projects in the Norwegian Barents Sea

TGS has commenced new 2D and 3D multi-client projects in the Norwegian Barents Sea. Both surveys will provide customers with high quality data prior to the closing of the 23rd Norwegian Licensing round.

• ARKeX recommence SE Barents Sea FTG survey

ARKeX has recommenced acquiring a Multi-Client Full Tensor Gravity Gradiometry (FTG) survey within the South Eastern Barents Sea. The survey, started last year but postponed due to weather, will cover 42 784 km2 over the proposed NPD licensing areas.

• Seatronics invests to stay ahead in ROV tooling rental market

Seatronics, an Acteon company, has invested more than £1 million in the latest technologies, sensors and tools available from Tritech International Ltd, a Moog Inc. company. Many of the products will enhance the ROV tooling capabilities, which are available through recently acquired Acteon Company, J2 Subsea.
