Richard Herbert, Head of Exploration, BP
BP  announced that it will appoint Richard Herbert as its new Head of Exploration. Herbert will succeed Mike Daly who has chosen to retire from BP at the end of 2013 after a career of 28 years with the company, eight leading BP’s exploration function.

Herbert will rejoin BP from Talisman Energy where he has held the position of Executive Vice President (EVP), Exploration since 2009.

Herbert will join BP as Chief Operating Officer, Exploration at the end of October, and will be based in London. He will report to Lamar McKay, BP’s Chief Executive, Upstream.

Claire Miller, CEO, Energy Industries Council (EIC)
The Energy Industries Council (EIC), the leading trade association for UK companies that supply goods and services to the energy industries worldwide, is delighted to announce that Claire Miller has been appointed CEO of the EIC.

Claire, who will be based in the EIC’s London office, will be responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction to ensure continued, consistent promotion of members’ interests and the EIC’s reputation as the leading trade association for the energy industry.

Alan Shanks, Finance Director, ROVOP
Subsea specialist ROVOP has appointed a Finance Director to further strengthen the company’s position for future growth.

Alan Shanks takes up the post and also joins ROVOP’s Board of Directors, bringing extensive experience in successfully facilitating and managing strategic business expansion from a financial perspective.

David Lamont, Chief Executive, Proserv scoops consecutive Entrepreneur of the Year award
The Chief Executive of rapidly growing energy technology services company Proserv has scooped the award for Private Equity Backed Business in the EY UK Entrepreneur of the Year 2013 awards.

David Lamont was praised for the company’s impressive acquisition strategy, its geographical reach and the opportunities for further expansion. During his two years at Proserv, the company has recorded annual organic growth rates of 28%.

Chad C. Fletcher, Vice President of Western Hemisphere Operations, TDW
T.D. Williamson (TDW), a worldwide provider of equipment and services for operators of pressurised piping systems, announced that Chad C. Fletcher has joined the executive management team as Vice President of Western Hemisphere Operations. Fletcher is responsible for overseeing the fulfillment of strategic initiatives, as well as driving day-to-day execution of all business in the Western hemisphere.

Travis Ohnesorge VP, Customer Service, Wireless Seismic Inc.
Wireless Seismic, Inc., a leading innovator of real-time and cable-free seismic data acquisition systems for the oil and gas industry, has announced the promotion of Mr Travis Ohnesorge to Vice President, Customer Services.

In his new role, Mr. Ohnesorge will be responsible for extending client training programs and expanding the customer services division to meet the needs of the growing international client base for Wireless Seismic. Previously, he served as Director, Customer Support of Wireless Seismic.

Thomas Crone, President and CEO, ProSoft Technology Inc.
ProSoft Technology, Inc., a leading global industrial communication company, is pleased to announce that Thomas Crone has accepted the position of President and CEO effective immediately.

Paul Emmerson, Middle East Area Technical Sales Manager, Peak Well Systems
Specialist downhole tool designer and manufacturer Peak Well Systems (Peak) has appointed Paul Emmerson as area Technical Sales Manager for the Middle East region.

Mr Emmerson has over 25 years’ experience working within the upstream sector, most recently as managing director of Black Diamond. He has also held business development and operational roles with well management company, Expro.

John Thomson, Senior Riser Analyst, Aquaterra Energy
John Thomson has been appointed as Senior Riser Analyst with specific focus on deepwater project analysis within the expanding specialist Aquaterra Energy team in Aberdeen.

Eric Doyle, Regional Director – Europe at Aquaterra Energy, commented: “John brings exceptional technical awareness and commercial understanding to our team and adds to the high value engineering support we provide our clients. We are able to cover the complete project scope, from conceptual design and engineering analysis to construction and installation.”

Thomson is currently studying for a PhD in conductor soil interaction at Strathclyde University.

Pedro Viana and Roberto Alvim, Technical Managers of the Rio de Janeiro, Brazil office, 2H Offshore
2H Offshore, an Acteon company, has appointed Pedro Viana and Roberto Alvim as the Technical Managers of its Rio de Janeiro, Brazil office to strengthen its management team and drive business growth.

Viana was the first engineer hired when 2H Offshore’s Brazil office opened in 2003. He has participated directly in the development of the office since its inception, and has supported both the technical and management activities of the company. Alvim was the second engineer 2H Offshore hired in Brazil and, like Viana, has been an integral part of the growth of the Rio de Janeiro office. Alvim has worked on several analysis projects, including drilling, completion and production risers systems.

Chris Hewson-Smith and Peter Falconer, Senior Management roles in maintenance engineering and integrity services, XPD8
Asset integrity management specialist XPD8 Solutions has strengthened its senior management team in the anticipation of further growth with the appointment of two department managers.

Chris Hewson-Smith and Peter Falconer have joined the company in the respective roles for maintenance engineering and integrity services. Both bring extensive experience in the oil and gas industry to their new positions at XPD8.
