Interwell doubles UK facilities, headcount and aims to double revenues in 2012

Leading well intervention and integrity specialist Interwell has recorded significant growth since opening its UK facility in February 2011, more than doubling its pool of expert staff and has announced it is investing more than £2 million to expand its Aberdeen operations.

After opening in the UK, the company is now expanding its site in Aberdeen with the construction of a new qualification test facility to accommodate a growing team of in-house design engineers and better serve its local clients.

Over the last year, the company has embarked on a steady recruitment drive, employing 22 highly experienced staff in less than 12 months.

Offering some of the slimmest and most advanced well barrier solutions in the upstream oil and gas sector, the company has attracted more than 20 clients, performing in excess of 50 jobs since opening its Aberdeen base at the beginning of the year.

Interwell UK Managing Director Andrew Louden says: “We have witnessed rapid growth since establishing the Aberdeen base and have now doubled the size of our premises and created a dedicated test facility to provide a quicker turnaround time for local clients.”  

“We have recruited a first class operations team and highly experienced downhole product designers who enable us to better serve our UK clients with bespoke solutions, tailoring our core products to address client-specific challenges." 

“We will launch a number of new products into the marketplace in the coming year to help our clients to improve wellsite safety, reduce operational time, and provide significant operational cost savings. At the moment we are on course to meet our turnover target for this financial year and aim to double that in 2012.”

Interwell is the one of the world’s leading independent suppliers of retrievable bridge plugs and its product portfolio can be deployed in almost every oil and gas well; from appraisal to abandonment.

Each of Interwell’s portfolio of solutions can be tailored to solve individual project requirements with very short lead times, providing a rapid response for clients. There are also has in-house testing facilities where plugs and packers can be qualified to the ISO 14310 V0 standard.

To date the company has performed more than 100 successful ISO 14310 qualification tests on its portfolio of products at its purpose built, in-house test facilities.

Interwell, which is located between the beach and harbour at Links Place in Aberdeen, also has global offices in Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi and Oman, in addition to its sister operation in Norway.
