PT Elnusa Tbk (Elnusa), Indonesia’s leading integrated energy services company, continues to reinforce its technology and innovation edge by investing in next-generation nodal seismic systems to accelerate onshore exploration activities across the country.

Marking a strong start to 2026 and helping to strengthen Indonesia’s energy production, Elnusa has moved swiftly to deploy advanced seismic survey programs, including early-year operations in Eastern Indonesia, as part of its commitment to supporting national energy resilience.
Indonesia’s subsurface characteristics - ranging from Pre-Tertiary basement reservoirs and fractured formations to deep hydrocarbon targets - demands high-quality seismic imaging to reduce uncertainty and improve exploration success. At the same time, exploration activities are increasingly challenged by remote locations, operational efficiency pressures, and dynamic market conditions. In response, Elnusa continues to prioritise technologies that enable faster execution, cost efficiency, and superior data quality.
As part of this strategic initiative, Elnusa has acquired 25 000 STRYDE Range+ nodes with extended autonomy, complemented by the STRYDE Nimble and Mini acquisition systems.
Together, the Nimble and Mini Systems provide Elnusa with a versatile dual-platform seismic acquisition capability, enabling improved survey design, simultaneous project execution, optimised resource utilisation, and accelerated exploration timelines across Indonesia. The investment represents a significant milestone in Elnusa’s long-term exploration strategy by placing advanced technology at the core of value creation and sustainable growth.
This technology investment decision follows a series of successful onshore seismic campaigns across Indonesia, where Elnusa previously utilised STRYDE’s nodal systems through leasing arrangements. These projects demonstrated the ability to acquire high-density, high-resolution seismic data to deliver reliable subsurface insights in complex geological settings and challenging operational environments.
Corporate Secretary of Elnusa, Rustam Aji, stated: “Elnusa has strong commitment to rediscovering our technology and innovation edge as a key driver of sustainable growth. By adopting next-generation nodal seismic technology, we are strengthening our core competencies in energy services while enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and speed in onshore exploration. More importantly, this initiative underlines Elnusa’s role in actively supporting Indonesia’s energy resilience, by accelerating survey activities in Eastern Indonesia from the very beginning of the year.”
The STRYDE Nimble System will serve as Elnusa’s primary platform for large-scale seismic acquisition. Capable of handling up to 3,240 nodes per day - the highest node-handling capacity currently available globally - the system is designed to maximise operational efficiency through bulk handling workflows, high-volume charging, and rapid data harvesting. This capability enables Elnusa to significantly shorten survey cycles, optimise costs, and execute multi-phase, high-density exploration programs with enhanced speed and data quality.
To complement large-scale operations, Elnusa has also procured STRYDE’s Mini System, a compact and highly portable solution ideal for parameter testing, early-stage field trials, and small-scale surveys. With its lightweight design and minimal crew requirements, the Mini System allows rapid deployment across diverse terrains, supporting agile decision-making in early exploration phases.
Commenting on the partnership, Amie Foster, Business Development Manager at STRYDE, said: “We are proud to deepen our long-standing partnership with Elnusa. Their decision to invest in two STRYDE systems and a large channel count after a handful of projects is a strong validation of the value we deliver - providing high-density seismic data that reduces exploration uncertainty, enhances reservoir understanding, and ultimately improves success rates for operators across Indonesia.”
Through this strategic investment and early-year operational acceleration, Elnusa continues to position itself at the forefront of Indonesia’s onshore exploration efforts - leveraging technology, innovation, and integrated energy services expertise to support sustainable national energy development.
