Cameron’s CryoCAM plant now online

Oilfield Technology,

Cameron’s CryoCAM™ plant is now online at Nuevo Midstream’s Ramsey processing facility in Reeves County, Texas.

Cameron’s CryoCAM 200 million ft3/d cryogenic gas processing plant for the Phase III expansion of Nuevo’s gas gathering processing and treating system in the Delaware Basin near Orla, Texas brings the total cryogenic gas processing capacity of the system to 300 million ft3/d.

Two new stnadardised modular configurations of the Cameron CryoCAM have been introduced for maximum natural gas liquids (NGL) recovery using NGL-MAXSM technology from Randal Gas Technologies.

CryoCAM gas processing plants are based on well established NGL-MAX technology, a patented process that can provide maximum NGL recovery by using semi lean and lean reflux. Typical ethane recoveries are 97%, while also recovering 100% of the propane and heavier components in ethane recovery mode and propane recoveries of 95% and 10% of ethane in ethane rejection mode. The process can provide up to 10% additional gas liquids revenue when compared to non-proprietary designs.

Steve Roll, President of Cameron’s Process Systems division, said: “The Ramsey III project demonstrates best of both worlds for our customers. First, a pre-engineered modular plant, which compared to a custom design, shorten the project duration and integrates easily with the overall facility; and second, a higher NGL recovery technology than the typical GSP design, delivering more liquids in both ethane rejection and ethane recovery mode”.
