Petroplan sets up regional hub in Glasgow

Oilfield Technology,

Petroplan, the global recruiter for the oil, gas and energy industry, is launching a new office in Glasgow, Scotland.

Situated on West George Street in the city centre, the Glasgow office enables Petroplan to draw on the city’s talent pool of professionals with experience throughout the energy sector supply chain, and work more closely with clients across the central belt of Scotland – including key locations such as Grangemouth, Edinburgh, and Helensburgh.

Regional director for Petroplan, Kenny Dooley, will lead the team.

Commenting on the new establishment, Dooley said: “A key factor in establishing a base in Glasgow was the opportunity to engage with the city’s experienced workforce. People don’t typically tend to associate Glasgow with oil and gas. However, with a significant number of service companies, fabrication companies and machine shops being situated along the central belt of Scotland, this move gives Petroplan a stronger local presence, whilst allowing us to offer our full range of services to a wider client base, and respond rapidly to our clients’ needs.”

The launch of Petroplan’s Glasgow office comes as the University of Strathclyde announces its plans for the Strathclyde Oil & Gas Institute. The institute will address the “key challenges” faced by the oil and gas industry.

The Glasgow office is Petroplan’s second new site to launch in 2014, following the opening of a London office earlier this year.
