Petrobras announces participation in exploratory block in São Tomé and Príncipe

Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. – Petrobras informs that it has concluded the acquisition of a 27.5% stake in Block 4, located in São Tomé and Príncipe, Africa. With this acquisition, Petrobras joins the consortium of the aforementioned block, which includes Shell, the operator of the asset (30%), as well as Galp (27.5%) and ANP-STP (15%).
Petrobras has been active in São Tomé and Príncipe since February 2024, when it acquired a 45% stake in Blocks 10 and 13, and a 25% stake in Block 11.
This transaction strengthens Petrobras’ exploratory activities on the African continent, with the purpose of portfolio diversification, and is aligned with the company’s long-term strategy, aiming to replenish oil and gas reserves through exploration of new frontiers and partnership operations.
The acquisition of Block 4 in São Tomé and Príncipe complied with all the company’s internal governance procedures and is in accordance with the 2025-2029 Strategic Plan.
