Norwegian Petroleum Directorate: Production figures September 2014

According to the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate, preliminary production figures for September 2014 indicate an average daily production of around 1 834 000 barrels of oil, NGL and condensate.

This is 16 000 bpd (approximately 1%) less than in August 2014. Total gas sales were around 7.9 billion m3, which is 0.6 Gm3 more than the previous month.

Average daily productions

The average daily liquid production in September was: 1,472,000 barrels of oil, 285 000 barrels of NGL and 76,000 barrels of condensate. The oil production is 2.5% above the NPD’s prognosis for September and 10% above the oil production in September last year.

The Alvheim, Draugen, Ekofisk, Oseberg Sør, Skuld, Svalin, Valhall, Vilje and Volund fields had reduced production in September due to maintenance and technical problems.

So far this year the oil production is around 2% above the NPD’s prognosis and around 2% higher than for the same period in 2013.

Total petroleum production for 2014

The total petroleum production for the first nine months in 2014 is around 158.5 million m3 oil equivalents. (o.e.), broken down as follows: around 64.3 million m3 o.e. of oil, around 16.9 million m3 o.e. of NGL and condensate and around 77.2 million m3 o.e. of gas for sale.

Final production figures from August 2014 show an average daily production of around 1.495 million barrels of oil, 0.355 million barrels of NGL and condensate and a total of 7.3 billion m3 saleable gas production.
