Renewables fuel mandate

The American Petroleum Institute has been staunchly set against the renewables fuel mandate along with many other oil and gas industry bodies and companies. Over the eight years the mandate has been in place, the API has been working actively against it and has launched a number of campaigns to have Congress impose a repeal.

The API has now launched a new initiative. The advert features everyday people and explains how the renewable fuel standard will impact many aspects of their lives. The RFS is set in place to ensure that refiners steadily escalate the amount of ethanol that is blended in to biofuels.
