LR Senergy launches web access to subsea inspection data with ‘Iris’

Oilfield Technology,

LR Senergy (Survey & GeoEngineering) has announced the latest release of its industry leading Iris offshore project and data management web application, incorporating significant advances in the management of subsea pipeline and asset inspection data.

Iris (v2.2) can now be used to support pipeline and subsea structure inspection projects and long term data management. Acquired and reported data is web hosted and accessed through an intuitive web map interface using any computer, tablet or mobile web browser. All standard digital video based projects, formats and deliverables are accommodated. Features include simultaneous streaming of three or more video files, live camera positions on the web map, pipeline profiles and pipeline events. Year on year inspection data is easily compared and contrasted, assisting the identification of change and informing asset integrity assessment and inspection strategy.

Iris is a project support and data management web tool focused on offshore field developments and associated survey, construction and subsea inspection projects and data. The system also boasts a range of visualisation and project management features. These include live vessel tracking, file explorer and project status dashboards, supporting the project manager in planning, simultaneous operations and achieving maximum visibility to the status and progress of an offshore project at all times and from any location.

Martin Day, Survey and Positioning manager at LR Senergy survey and geo-engineering, said: “Iris has been well received by our clients and its use has brought demonstrable improvements to project efficiency through the fast and easy access to data and information, both onshore and offshore. Clients are assured that their expensively acquired survey and inspection data, reports, videos, charts and field information will be securely maintained for the long-term and will always be immediately available when required. Our new pipeline inspection functionality ensures that Iris remains at the very forefront of web mapping and cloud data management technology and innovation for the offshore energy industry.”

Since it was initially launched in 2013, Iris has been used extensively by oil and gas and renewable sector energy clients for their offshore projects. In May, LR Senergy announced Iris would be used as a key part of a major contract win with GDF Suez E&P throughout the construction phases of the Cygnus development in the UK North Sea.

LR Senergy is a global provider of fully-integrated project and asset development services across the energy sector. The company’s Survey and Geo-engineering capabilities, which serve both the oil and gas industry and renewable energy market, span geophysics and geohazard assessment; geotechnical and foundation engineering studies; survey, positioning and inspection; data management and geographic information system (GIS) solutions; cable burial and trenching assessment.
