Oilfield Technology,
Blueback Reservoir, a fast growing technology company specialising in providing Petrel* plug-ins and 3D geomodelling services for the global oil and gas exploration and production industry, has announced the release of a new plug-in for Petrel, Blueback Rock Physics 2.0.
Blueback Rock Physics 2.0 is a fully integrated suite of rock physics tools for quantitative interpretation across multiple domains and data types. This latest version allows users to utilise custom rock physics models by importing them into Blueback Rock Physics 2.0 or write them directly in Petrel using IronPython. This release also supports the new ‘Ribbons’ interface of Petrel 2014.
Fully integrated into Petrel, this dynamic, powerful and easy to use suite of tools allows asset teams to optimise the value of seismic data, reducing exploration risk, measuring uncertainty and improving reservoir forecasting.
“With a unique implementation of rock physics this plug-in can perform integrated analysis on wells, seismic and reservoir model properties all inside of Petrel, ensuring full integration. By utilising the power of Petrel for visualisation and user interaction, the Blueback Rock Physics 2.0 plug-in enables rock physics workflows, bridging the gap between geology and geophysics.” – said Gaute Gamst, manager for the Blueback Reservoir software portfolio.
