Paradigm Flow Services invests in new headquarters

Oilfield Technology,

Paradigm Flow Services has invested £4.25 million in a new headquarters and test centre.

The company is taking a 15-year lease on Paradigm House in Drumoak from MacDonald Properties (Aberdeen) Ltd, which will provide capacity for up to 80 people. Paradigm has delivered more than £7.5 million worth of contracts in the first half of this year.

The new building comprises an 18,000 square foot office and workshop and a 51,000 square foot yard housing an advanced test centre, providing scope for Paradigm Flow Services to fully develop and refurbish equipment under one roof.

Oil and gas companies

These facilities for firewater deluge, subsea systems, specialist industrial cleaning, and pressure testing will also be available for oil and gas companies to use for trials and training purposes.

While the company currently has offices at Kintore Business Park and Thainstone Business Centre, the new base will bring the teams together in one location and bolster the firm’s capacity to support operators with topside and subsea blockage remediation.

Comments

Rob Bain, managing director of Paradigm Flow Services, commented: “The new site at Drumoak is our global HQ as we expand operations around the world and enhance our capabilities for rapid international response. The addition of the test centre also enables us to provide an entirely new service to the oil and gas industry.

“The move supports the continuation of our strong growth and significant research and development activities. This is crucial to our success as we improve existing innovations and developing new technologies and services to lead the way in this area.

“Having all of our personnel and facilities located together on one site is of huge benefit and we look forward to moving in towards the end of Q3 this year. This is the first business park of its type to be developed in Deeside, focussing on high specification industrial units. We have also invested in fibre optic broadband to the site which has brought benefits to residents and other businesses in Drumoak.”

Testing and training facilities

Paradigm’s new facility will allow the company to showcase its technologies for blockage remediation including deluge integrity management, Pipe-Pulse and Flexi-Coil Extended Reach, in a replicated offshore environment.

There will be testing and refurbishing equipment onsite, including a full deluge remediation and testing system, a subsea umbilical system with the main components, subsea flowlines and piggable loops. These facilities will also provide an effective platform for training.
