ATP Instone leads agenda for offshore sector in Norway

Oilfield Technology,

ATP Instone, part of the ATPI Group, will present an overview of the key issues, trends and solutions for the management of offshore crew and support staff at two key industry events.

The two events are the Offshore Marine Crewing Forum, which take place in Oslo, and INK, which will take place in Stavanger, both on 1 – 2 October 2014.

Offshore Marine Crewing Forum

The company is the Network Development Luncheon sponsor for the Offshore Marine Crewing Forum, whose key theme for the event is ‘Ensuring crew competency, retention and safety in the global offshore support vessel fleet’. Pieter Rieder, global head of energy and shipping sales for the ATPI Group will be one of the key speakers at the Global Forum and will be presenting to delegates on the Key Priorities of Travel Management within the Energy Industry.

Commenting on the forum, Rieder said: “Whilst oil and gas industries may be geographically dispersed across the world’s oceans, they share common ground in their challenges - cost savings, systems integration, duty of care and global consolidation. Our research conducted in partnership with Offshore Engineer last year revealed that duty of care and traveller safety and security are the biggest concerns for decision makers in the oil and gas industry, followed by cost reduction.

“As episodes of political unrest, extreme weather conditions and not least health scares happen around the world, the safety and security of staff becomes increasingly important. An efficient travel management company qualified with specialist knowledge of the sector is critical to the successful day-to-day operation of companies in the oil and gas industry. A comprehensive safety and security programme coupled with a robust travel risk strategy is key to achieving this. Many of our clients with offshore operations require very complex logistics planning, and for their businesses to function effectively, staff travel to often remote locations must be managed efficiently.”

INK event

ATP Instone will also be the Gold sponsor of INK, which takes place in Stavanger. This year INK’s key theme is Cost Reduction and will be attended by Bente Worren, head of sales and key account management at ATP Instone and Karsten Møgster, regional sales manager for ATP Instone.

Delegates at INK will be able to learn more about the latest developments to the company’s technology platform, ATPI CrewHub, developed to help reduce crew travel costs in addition to aiding travel policy compliance, duty of care and the safety and security of travelling staff. In August 2014, the ATPI Group incorporated the Company Letter of Authority function to ATPI CrewHub, enabling clients to combine this with airline e-ticket receipts.

Commenting on this new addition Worren said: "The development of this technology was made in direct response to offshore business' demands for a more efficient, cost effective booking and travel management solution that can be integrated with existing HR systems. Our expertise in offshore travel management means that we are able to approach this challenge with unrivalled expertise, and deliver a platform that is the most relevant the industry has ever seen."
