Energy businesses should take advantage of Israeli opportunities

Oilfield Technology,

Led by Aberdeen Grampian Chamber of Commerce, energy businesses in the north-east of Scotland are being called to take part in the first ever UKTI supported trade mission for their sector to Israel.

Oil and gas in Israel

As part of the mission, delegates will have the opportunity participate in UOG 2014. This aims to be the largest oil and gas conference and exhibition of its type to date in Israel and offers delegates the chance to investigate game changing onshore, offshore and unconventional opportunities in the region.

The mission will enable delegates to network with block-license holders, government officials, international experts and senior executives in the Israeli oil and gas industry.

Major energy producer

Recent offshore discoveries, the onshore potential of oil shale reserves and the production and further potential of natural gas show that Israel could become a major energy producer ranking alongside Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

Chief Operating Officer of UOG 2014, Joshua Beagelman explains how this is a unique opportunity for Aberdeen, as an established energy hub, to connect with one of the world's most exciting emerging markets. Beagelman commented: “Israel is now one of the leading emerging oil and gas markets and we are excited to bring Aberdeen’s wealth of experience and expertise to the region creating a platform for knowledge and future partnerships.”

International trade

Julien Massé, International Trade Team Leader for Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce also expressed his enthusiasm towards the opportunity: “The Chamber’s international trade department is proudly leading the way once again to an upcoming and exciting energy market. Our trade missions are tailored to help UK SMEs learn about the market and prepare their future entry. Combining our mission schedule with the Universal Oil & Gas Dead Sea 2014 Conference and Exhibition is the ideal platform for participants and will provide them with a comprehensive business trip”.

UOG 2014 will take place 18-20 November at the David Dead Sea Resort Hotel.
