CNOOC Limited has announced that the Bozhong 28-2 south oilfield second adjustment project has commenced production.

The well was drilled by the ‘Deepsea Stavanger’ drilling rig, about 25 km southwest of the Oseberg field in the North Sea and 150 km west of Bergen.

The concession is located approximately 200 km from Rio de Janeiro, in water depths up to 2900 m. It contains natural gas and oil/condensate recoverable volumes of above 1 billion boe/d.

The company has closed the transaction for the sale of Abo FPSO to STAC Marine Offshore Limited, a member of the Nigerian Transport Group for US$20 million.

The 10-year agreement, including options, allows TWMA to extend its global drilling waste management services to Equinor’s operations, allowing the company to process its drilling waste safely and sustainably.

The Johan Castberg partnership, consisting of Equinor, Vår Energi and Petoro, is updating the project cost estimate. The investment estimate has increased by almost NOK 13 billion since last year.

Touchstone Exploration has provided an update regarding natural gas and liquids production volumes from the recently commissioned Cascadura facility.

Once the expansion of the facilities is completed, this oil field will increase its production from 250 000 bpd of Arab light crude oil to more than 500 000 bpd, in addition to 40 000 bpd of condensed hydrocarbons.

The Railroad Commission of Texas issued a total of 820 original drilling permits in August 2023. The total includes 710 to drill new oil or gas wells, 8 to re-enter plugged wellbores and 92 for re-completions of existing wellbores.

The company has completed the drilling of four horizontal wells of the ten well multi-pad infill drill programme.

DNO ASA has announced that Christopher Spencer has been appointed Managing Director of the company as Bjørn Dale steps down as part of a planned management transition initiated last year.

White Fleet acquired the out-of-service rig in 2022 and subsequently moved the rig to Gulf Copper's shipyard in Galveston, Texas, last July.

In line with the announcement on 31 August 2023, production at Montara restarted on 01 September 2023.

The project will include carbon capture units at the Habshan gas processing plant, pipeline infrastructure, and a network of wells for CO2 injection.
