Valiant Driller jack-up completes move from Indonesia to India
Aqualis Offshore, part of Oslo-listed Aqualis ASA, has completed the marine warranty services for the dry transportation of the mobile offshore drilling unit Valiant Driller jack-up from Indonesia to India, where it will operate for ONGC.
Valiant Driller, owned by Jackup Drilling Pte. Ltd, was transported from Indonesia on the COSCO heavy lift vessel Xian Yun kou, following a well-executed float-on operation at the Port of Batu Ampar, Batam, Indonesia. After the heavy lift vessel safely reached India, the rig was wet towed to a platform drilling location at the Mumbai High oilfield, offshore the west coast of India.
Marine warranty surveyor duty
Aqualis Offshore was appointed as marine warranty surveyor on behalf of the rig owner, and supported the operation throughout by conducting independent reviews of the engineering, marine procedures and on-site approvals of marine activities. The rig move was managed by Aqualis Offshore’s office in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
“This was an important move for us as Valiant Driller is a new jack-up drilling rig coming to India to work for ONGC. We are pleased to announce that it was conducted safely and on time using the well appointed Xian Yun Kou heavy lift vessel,” says Captain Rodger Dickson, Marine Director – Middle East, Aqualis Offshore.
