GE to supply wellhead sensors for Golia

GE’s Sensing business has won an order to provide over 130 subsea wellhead sensors for installation in the Goliat field, which is located within the Norwegian sector of the Barents Sea. The order has been placed by Aker Solutions, who were awarded the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract in 2009 by the field licensee and operator Eni Norge AS. The sensors will be delivered over the next two years and production from the field is expected in 2013.

The scope of the Aker contract includes subsea templates and manifolds, riser bases, subsea trees and control systems as well as umbilicals and workover systems. The PTX400 sensors will be installed on the trees and manifolds at depths of up to 1800 m and will provide long term precise measurement for flow assurance and integrity purposes.

The PTX400 series has been designed to meet the increasingly stringent requirements for subsea operation and offer reliability at seawater depths of up to 4500 m.
