Yemeni pipeline sabotaged again
Yemen LNG has confirmed the sabotage of the 38 in. gas pipeline that links the block 18 field to the Balhaf terminal on the Gulf of Aden.
The explosion occurred at 22h20 on 26th April in a desertic zone at 260 km North of the Balhaf liquefaction Plant. It caused no victim.
The pipeline was last sabotaged on March 30th leading to several cargoes being cancelled.
Yemen LNG and the sale of natural gas represents one of the Yemeni governments few sources of export dollars, and as a result it is likely militias are targeting the pipelines feeding the terminal to choke off foreign revenue to the government, which is deeply unpopular in the country.
